I love the beautiful irony involved with this photo. It's framed almost poetically amongst the fallen snow. Damn, this is a nice pic; simple, effective. You'd expect to see this in a calendar or something. Excellent composition and balance. It's as if every flake of snow was hand delivered to each petal. I know the contrast has been mentioned already but it really is beautifully done here with the desaturated snow against the stark red. Beautiful pic.

Lovely, I'm assuming that that is a real rose, in which case I bow to you because I know that roses hate the cold like that and start to play up big time. Nice indeed

Absolutely beautiful. There's something very poetic about this image... The idea of snow blanketing a living rose, certainly beautiful, but equally sure to kill it. I love the color and focus in this peice. But what's the blurred red shape in the background.
